66444 Tyngwndwn Moonlight

Tyngwndwn MoonlightSire; Nebo Brenin – Dam; Nebo Shani
1980 – 2004
Three Times Royal Welsh Winner
Twice Female and Reserve Overall Section C Champion
(For more details see history page)

Moonlight was born on a glorious moonlit evening; her life was triumphed with glory from that moment on. Her first appearance in the show ring was Lampeter stallion show where she headed a strong class of yearlings, her showing career went from strength to strength, she loved every show and never let us down, her champions are far too many to mention but she clinched nearly every major show throughout England and Wales. Unfortunately she was never crowned the overall champion at the Royal Welsh but gained a red rosette on three occasions and was credited two gold medals for the female champion and two reserve overall champions.

Moonlight had fifteen foals and produced some lovely stock all by her half brother Nebo Bouncer, just to mention a few they include four Royal Welsh winners Tyngwndwn Bridesmaid and Brenhines who both won as foals, Tyngwndwn Daylight who won as a four year old and as a nine year old when she went one step further than her mother and went overall section C champion bringing the Lady Chetwynd cup home to Tyngwndwn for the first time ever, and Moonlight’s last off spring Tyngwndwn Moonlady possibly the most like Moonlight won in 2005 as a three year old an achievement her mother did 22 years previous. Tyngwndwn Mischief who has been second on two occasions at the Royal Welsh, Tyngwndwn Bouncing Boy qualified for the ridden championship at Olympia.

Moonlight was a pleasure in every way, the foundation of the section C’s at Tyngwndwn and is sadly missed by us all.

Supreme Champion

Tyngwndwn Daylight

1993-2009
Sire; Nebo Bouncer – Dam; Tyngwndwn Moonlight
Twice Royal Welsh Winner
Female and overall section C Champion 2003Tyngwndwn Daylight

Tyngwndwn DaylightDaylight was the first foal we bred after our marriage the Autumn prior, as soon as we set eyes on her we knew she was a treasure and a special one at that, with her dam Moonlight coming to the end of her showing career we were so lucky to be blessed with a daughter to take over. Daylight’s showing career which commenced on the top exactly like her sire and dam winning the yearling class at Lampeter Stallion Show, she kept going from strength to strength winning championships at most of the major shows achieving no less than eleven Welsh Pony and cob Society medals (1 Gold, 5 Silver & 5 Bronze) two reserve Breeders in hand Championships (now Cuddy in-hand Champion) and supreme champions galore.

Daylight won the Royal Welsh on two occasions first as a junior brood mare, then as a ten year old she won the senior brood mare class going on to win the Paddock Dawn Cup, the champion rosette and gold medal for the Female championship and for the first time ever bringing the Chetwynd Cup for the supreme welsh pony of Cob type to Tyngwndwn, a very special occasion for us being every breeder’s ambition and dream, our heart full gratitude to the judge Mr Brynlie Williams who in his judges report described Daylight as “a little mare who is truly typical of section C with looks and movement”, during that season she was also awarded a silver medal at the United Counties and Bronze at the national Welsh show Shrewsbury quite an achievement to win the three possible medals.

She also proved a valuable broodmare producing the Royal Welsh winner Tyngwndwn Henrietta who in turn produced Tyngwndwn Lion King and Tyngwndwn Angharad, three of Daylight’s daughters have been exported Lucy to Canada, Rose Queen to Finland and Sioned to Norway, and we have two fillies by Nebo Liam at Tyngwndwn.

It is with great sadness that we mark the death of Daylight at the young age of 15; she was one in a million, a real friend with fantastic temperament who had an amazing ‘look at me’ attitude in the show ring.

‘Daisy’ will be sadly missed by all the family, but will never be forgotten, and we thank her for the immense success the brought upon the Tyngwndwn Stud.

“Our memories are treasured for ever”
